romantic puerto rico
September 22nd, 2013

Puerto Rico has a little something for everyone. Whether you want to pamper yourself at a luxury hotel by chilling at the pool all day or maybe you are a bit more adventurous and want to check out the great scuba diving scene. Or maybe you want to check out the beautiful golf courses Puerto Rico has to offer, regardless of what your interests are Puerto Rico has it all. However above anything else, Puerto Rico is a great place for a romantic getaway, and it is no coincidence that thousands of people every year flock here for a romantic experience like no other.

There are so many things that make the island a great place for couples looking for a romantic escape where they can relax and take in the company of a loved one. The beautiful scenery and feel of the island puts you at ease, and you can feel the warmth as soon as you get off the plane. There are so many beaches where couples can take a romantic stroll, but there is so much more to Puerto Rico than pristine beaches. The nightlife also has much to offer couples, and no matter what you enjoy, there is something here for everyone.

If you haven’t heard already, Puerto Rico is home to salsa dancing, and it is a great activity for couples to do together. Why not take a class with your loved one in the country where this beautiful art form originates? Many of the cozy street cafes in San Juan has salsa performances on a daily basis. The many bars also are lively with salsa dancing as well. Even though you may not be a dancer, when you’re in Puerto Rico it can be hard to resist! Even those with two left feet will be able to get a hang of the energetic dance, and in no time you will become a fan. Puerto Rico is home to some of the best salsa dancing festivals as well. Here is some footage of what it’s like:

Aside from salsa dancing, Vieques is a very popular place for couples to hang out. It is one of the two islands that lies east of the main island. It features moonlit kayaking around the bio bay, as well as a host of other romantic activities to take part it. Renting a kayak and paddling out into the middle of the lagoon is a popular choice amongst couples, and even at night the water is warm enough to take a quick swim. Vieques is also home to many beautiful beaches that are often fairly deserted during the day, making for a secluded romantic getaway that you will soon not forget. This is especially true if you go during the week, and the scenery there will likely be some of the most breathtaking you have ever seen. Here is a little preview of Vieques:

If you are feeling a bit more adventurous Puerto Rico offers some great horseback riding by the sunset. Make sure you see at least one sunset while in Puerto Rico, and dinner by the beach followed by the sunset is sure to set the mood for any couple. There are also numerous tours that are offered year round, and many will include trips into some of the popular forest sanctuaries where couples can swim in the many beautiful waterfalls the island has to offer.

Even though you may not have initially considered Puerto Rico to be a romantic vacation, once you’re there you’ll see why so many people change their mind on arrival. If you plan properly Puerto Rico has much to offer couples and could be one of the most romantic destinations you will ever visit.
