Are you looking forward to an unforgettable beach getaway that you will cherish forever? If so then Puerto Rico should be near the top of your travel list, and there is more to this tiny island than you probably know. Aside from the amazing beauty Puerto Rico has to offer, as soon as you step foot on the island you’ll never want to leave. Puerto Rico is by far the most exotic and breathtaking group of islands that can be found in the Caribbean Sea, and it is a place that once you leave you’ll be already thinking about your next trip back. Puerto Rico has plenty of activities for everyone. Whether it be snorkeling, hiking, or surfing, there is just about something for everyone to enjoy here.
Some Basic Information: Puerto Rico is in the Caribbean Sea in the northeastern region and it is an archipelago that is made up of the main island as well as a cluster of several smaller islands. The main island is comprised of six regions which include the North Region, East Region, Central Region, Culebra, Porta del Sol, and Vieques. If you get a chance you should try to visit all six regions while there as each has its own unique charm and characteristics that you’ll appreciate. Each feature beautiful beaches, rainforest, and a host of activities to experience.
Getting To Puerto Rico: To get to Puerto Rico no matter where you are form it is likely you will land at Luis Munoz Marin Airport, which is the main airport which is connected to most major airlines. Each of the smaller regions has small terminals as well, so getting to and from each is fairly easy. If yo are U.S. resident you do not need a passport to visit as it is considered a U.S. territory. Many people also choose to come to Puerto Rico via cruise ship, and generally they will come in through Port San Juan which is the largest port there. While in Puerto Rico there are many forms of transportation as well. Standard cars, buses, taxis, and even ferries are all readily available to the tourist that visit.
Puerto Rico Accommodations: Since Puerto Rico is a popular tourist destination there is no shortage of options when it comes to accommodations. Whether you want to stay at a luxury hotel or one of the many local inns, there are a plethora of options to choose from. No matter where you stay you’ll likely have some great scenery to look at, so be sure to bring your camera!
Some Places of Interest: Of course while in Puerto Rico you’ll spend much of your time at the beautiful beaches, but there is so much more to do while you’re there. Puerto Rico has many great places for tourists to visit including parks, museums, and even forts. If you love nature you have to check out El Yunque National Forest, while city folk will appreciate Old San Juan. Other places of interest include Museum Fort Conde de Midasol, El Morro Fort, Laguana Grande, and the San Juan Cathedral. These are just a few of the popular tourist destinations that are must sees when in Puerto Rico.
Other Things To Do: Aside from the great tourist destinations Puerto Rico has a lot of great activities that tourist can partake in. These include kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, hiking and camping. The Puerto Rican nightlife is also lively as well, and on any night one can find bars that are alive with salsa dancing, There are also some amazing clubs there as well, along with some fantastic shopping opportunities that you’ll find nowhere else in the world.
