Any Puerto Rico vacation checklist should include the Caparra Ruins Historical Museum & Park. This park includes the ruins of the first settlement created by explorer Ponce De Leon, and the settlement was first started in the year 1508. The site includes the Museum of Conquest and Colonization of Puerto Rico, which includes many historical documents and numerous artifacts from the past.

St. John The Baptist Cathedral is another attraction that should not be missed, and this is true whether you are a religious person or not. The first cathedral was built in the early fifteen hundreds, and includes a marble tomb for the first governor of Puerto Rico. The medieval architecture of this cathedral is a big attraction, but so is the exquisitely constructed and decorated interior. This cathedral is a must visit for anyone who travels to this island.

Montoso Gardens is another very popular attraction, and a must visit for any Puerto Rico vacation checklist. These botanical gardens cover more than ninety acres, and in addition to exotic plants and gorgeous flowers you will also find fruits. There are over six hundred species included in these gardens, and this includes fruits, nuts, spices, flowers, and other various plant types. There is a five dollar fee to get into the gardens for adults, but children are not charged a fee.
